COMING HOME

Vacation is always nice, but it is so good to come home! I missed my bed, my dogs and my workbench! Another thing I love about returning home after being gone for a few days is the mail. It is like Christmas! I was delighted at the arrival of a recent purchase..this lovely calling card case from Sarah & Abraham.

It is the perfect little business card case as most of mine end up in a random pocket in my bag and the corners always get worn and they just don't look crisp like they should.
I am a big fan of Sarah & Abraham's stationary and follow the blog regulary! Sara (the creator and owner) not only has great products, but she also shares a lot of helpful knowledge for other small business owners and other Etsy sellers. In addition to owning her own successful business, she is a wife and a mom! My hero!
My card case was my first purchase...but look at this NEW awesome

I was SO excited when I saw it! I am such a big list and doodle person (I guess I am a bit old school when it comes to that)...and this cute little organizer is the perfect place to hold your cards, a fresh pad of paper and a pen! Hmm...I feel a 2nd purchase coming on!! :)

ROAD TRIP
For the next 7 days I will be on a road trip. FUN!

I will be visiting a small town called Matthews, Virginia to visit some family then to Williamsburg VA, on to Luray VA to visit Luray Caverns and then Ashville, North Carolina for a night before coming back to Atlanta. Hopefully I will have lots to share when I get back!

Here is a sneak peek of a few things I have been working on to debut when I get return!

In other news, I was honored to be featured on the Etsy By Numbers blog! The blog featured my favorite...my Wistful Bangles. YAY! This is a great site that you must visit! The site is a super informative website for Etsy Sellers and great for those who just like to shop too! Be sure to check it out. ~Thank you Fredah!

SKIRT MAGAZINE

*Cover image from Atlanta July 2009 issue by Hadley Hutton

Many of you probably know of Skirt magazine. Skirt is a magazine ‘all about women, their work, play, families, creativity, style, health and wealth, bodies and souls...’. Skirt prints in several cities, but if you don't have it in your area, you can also enjoy national Skirt.com. I get almost giddy when I see a new issue of Skirt. I carefully fold the crisp newspaper like ‘magazine’, put it in my purse and wait for the perfect time to sit down with a glass of wine and plunk down on the sofa to indulge in this truly delightful publication. Each issue has great features such as ‘Skirt Loves’, ‘Skirt Mama’, ‘Skirt Events’ and my favorite, the ‘Essays’. The Essays are always my favorite part of Skirt as they are always thought-provoking, amusing, sometimes motivational and on occasion will cause you to shed a tear or two. One of the most moving articles I read that I won’t forget is We were the Hubers and We Lived Here by Christy Huber Rippel (featured in the Atlanta May 2009 issue) about a woman re-visiting her childhood home, the memories it holds and the heartbreaking reality of lifes unexpected turns. This is an amazing article you should really check out.

Skirt also features great items every month (many that are local independent designers), like this Filigree Thymes Perfumed Soap, $18...

This beautiful scarf by Echo Designs

These fabulous new perfumes by Benefit...

and these beautiful candles from Natural Selection Bath & Body...

There are really so many excellent features about Skirt, you just have to check it out for yourself. If your cities is one of the many to have the local printed issues, you have to pick it up...it is such a treat!

NEW PENDANT EXPERIMENT! I WANT YOUR OPINION PLEASE!

So I have been wanting to make some new pendants and I finally got the supplies to do it and I made these two last night. I think they came out great for my first two...and I am going to be experimenting with different colors, different chains..and adding some bead accents to the chain to bring out the color of the pendants...what do you think?
