BACK HOME

We just got back home yesterday from North Carolina...we had such a good time. Now that I am home I have a huge list of things I want to get done {hopefully today!}...including getting a Christmas tree and start decorating the house in addition to the normal weekend stuff...grocery shopping and laundry. I am going to get started on my list, but here are a few pictures from the winery I told you I was going to! The Childress Winery is such a beautiful place and I don't know about you, but Christmas decorations almost make me giddy...and they had everything decorated...it was so beautiful!

CHILDRESS VINEYARD & WINERY

Today I am going to lunch and a wine tasting at Childress Vineyard & Winery in Lexington, North Carolina. I have visited once before and I loved it...but I didn't get good pictures last time...but I definitely will today! Childress is a 35,000-square-foot facility. Besides the yummy wines and scrumptious restaurant, the building is just gorgeous! Designed by Winston-Salem, NC architect Kyle Troxell, the stone and stucco building, with its ornate terra cotta roof is inspired by the Italian Renaissance architecture of rural Tuscany. The winery's  interiors are the creation of Wolf Design Group in Atlanta, GA. It makes it easy to pretend I am in Italy for the day! I will share pictures as soon as I get home {Atlanta}!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I am following my friend Kelley's lead here...
I am most thankful for:

Family
Friends
Our health
House
My dogs
Good food
Good wine
Tear inducing laughter
Late night conversations that you never want to end
Soft blankets
Fires in the fireplace

...I will keep the list short, but these things are what I am most grateful for right at this moment. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

A REALLY GOOD READ

I LOVE to read. My friend Tracy and I often exchange books and she told me that I had to read her favorite book, Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. This book is definitely a favorite of mine now too. It is a powerful novel of love, loss, and the magic of friendship. I have never read a book that made me experience such a wide range of emotions. You can read a summary here. I would recommend this book to anyone...but be sure to grab a box of Kleenex!

As an avid reader, I was so excited when I found out about the website 'What Should I Read Next?' You enter in the title and author of a book that you like and it will give you a list of books that it thinks you would enjoy based on other readers recommendations. To get more accurate suggestions, register and add more books you've loved to your list.

If you are a reader, you definitely need to check out:

SALT OF THE EARTH...REALLY!

I was so excited about meeting Keith O'Connor and his beads that I forgot to mention I got the two coolest geode slice pendants! I entertained the thought of adding beads into the middle of the pendants...and tried it a few times, but it really just took away from how unique the pendants are..all on their own! On one I added an ivory pearl on the bottom and on the other a little Sterling Silver nugget. I love them!

...and I just got them added to my Etsy shop! Take a peek for a few more pictures!
