I hadn't planned on working on jewelry today. I walked by my bench, turned on the lamp, looked down at everything laying there and the wheels just started spinning. Ten minutes later, I have two new rings started. Sitting there working, head down...I haphazardly grabbed a tool from here and there and put it down basically wherever my hand was at the time and then I thought, "uh...where is my metal file? I know it was right here..." and I looked up and saw that my bench was a complete mess. Then I thought...I am sure there is some sort of profound quote out there like, "a messy workbench is a productive one"....or "geniuses work best in a mess"....right?

Bah! There's still plenty of workspace left in sight. And I see your metal file over on the right :)
Ha! I work the same way, in the heat of working I never think to put something away....and the next thing I know, I have every tool I own out! It's comforting to know I'm not the only one...
Chaos! My work space (or should I say spaces) looks about like yours. Time to do a clean up!

i start off with a clean space and one project. then more design ideas come and i'm pulling things out and starting new things before i finish the first one. then i end up with a big mess and can seem to finish anything. blah!
LOL I have two different messes going on. My jewelry table and my art table and it migrates to where my laptop is also. But if I did accomplish something I don't mind the mess. :)
